Morefun Studios, the developer and publisher of Arena Breakout: Infinite, has announced that it will release the game on September 15th. The announcement comes with news of what the full game contains, alongside a discussion about the biggest talking point: the game’s pay-to-win elements.
Arena Breakout: Infinite Release Date
As mentioned, the blog post announcing the information states that Arena Breakout Infinite is releasing on September 15th, two months before the full release of Escape From Tarkov and 6 weeks before Arc Raiders. The game is expected to have five distinctive maps, with many expanded to give players more room to explore, get cover, and approach maps a bit differently from the early access and beta equivalents. In addition, the game will launch with different difficulty settings, with Normal, Lockdown Zone, and Forbidden Zone representing the risk-reward of loot on the maps. There are also different game modes, where players can play solo, in squads, or play a 4v4 Team Deathmatch mode if that’s more their thing.
In addition, the game is getting new weapons, featuring:
- AN-94 Assault Rifle (modeled from an AK)
- ZC807 Assault Rifle (Modelled like Scar to an extent)
- PP19 SMG (modeled like an AK 74U)
There are plenty of items and cosmetics coming too. There are more consumables for health and stat buffs while in raids, alongside other items to collect to spice up your looting rewards. There’s also a Cyberpunk crossover with a skin, too.
While that’s a quick summary of what’s coming with the launch date, the game is also getting a celebration event. With the game’s launch on Steam, players can get the following rewards for free:
- 2×2 Secure Case
- 3×3 Secure Case
- Free weapon skins for various AK, M16, and sniper rifle-like weapons.
- Many other consumable and cosmetic rewards.
Less Pay-To-Win?
Part of the announcement is dedicated to reducing pay-to-win elements. At the launch of the beta, there was a lot of commentary about the pay-to-win aspects, including buying full loadouts, high-tier ammo, and other shenanigans. Well, the developers have listened to feedback and are reducing the unfair advantages players have who spend money on the game’s microtransactions and marketplace. The big thing about selling Koen directly (the in-game currency) was a way to get players back on their feet. However, with the expansion of the game through beta and early access, there are a lot of ways to make money. So, the developers have decided to eliminate their cash cow and remove it from the game. It’s quite shocking in a good way, really.
The developers have also removed the ability to sell the best ammo (red ammo) from the marketplace. Players can now only craft it, reducing the amount in lobbies, as only dedicated crafters can bring it into missions. It makes the reward for getting that ammo much fairer. And with the elimination of buying Koen outright, it gives some level of prestige back to red ammo users. It should make harder raids much more interesting, that’s for sure.
In addition, the devs are adding transparency with unfair play in the form of cheaters.
- Weekly Violation Reports reveal ban and compensation data.
- The ACE dual-engine anti-cheat system and behavior-based monitoring work around the clock to ensure every battle is shaped by strategy and skill.
All in all, Arena Breakout: Infinite’s full release looks like it’s in a much better spot with all these changes. You can check the full announcement over on the Steam community page.
